Bray Vista play ,The Cobblestone, Smithfield, Dublin on March the 31st at 8pm. Bray Vista's first gig of 2010 sees them return to one of their favorite haunts, The Cobblestone in Smithfield, Dublin. The show promises, as always, to be a lively affair and the Cobblestone will no doubt be rocking to the band's country licks and to the good Guinness as served in this world famous establishment

Bray Vista's 'Let it Ride' is the band's latest release, and is sure to be instant hit with country music fans everywhere. This superb album, featuring 12 brand new Bray Vista songs, is brimming with banjo, mandolin, harmonica, ripping guitars and, of course, exceptional vocal harmonies. This album was co-produced by Grammy Award winning Jim Lauderdale (famous for much production and singing work with the likes of Ralph Stanley, Lucinda Williams and Buddy Miller) and Leo Pearson (famous for his own production work with U2 and Elvis Costello).

'The Ticket' gives 4-star to 'Let it Ride'

It's strange the way country has never really worked for bands outside of the US. There are lots of contenders, sure, but few that really convince. Well, you can add this nine-piece collective from the eponymous north Wicklow town to that winner's list. This is Bray Vista's second album and their first to be produced by Nashville hotshot Jim Lauderdale (along with Leo Parson). Lauderdale brings a professional sheen to playing, singing and harmonies, but it is Neil Tobin's songs, endearingly doleful and laden with longing and regret or packed with pastiche, that set this unit apart. The overly democratic nature of vocal duties (everyone seems to get a chance) remains a problem, but Alison Byrne and Tobin himself are assured in their different styles. As, indeed, is the band's playing. Of the 12 tracks, Someone to Hold, the country gospel of the title track and the simple, beautifulIf You Will are really impressive.
